MOKUL begins in Pakistan with a simple idea: what you wear should reflect how you move, think, and choose to become.
What does MOKUL mean? MOKUL is our spelling of the Kashmiri word mokul, meaning free, unrestrained, or released from a fixed form. We pronounce it MOH-kul — two simple syllables, open at the beginning and grounded at the end.
We chose it because it carries a feeling rather than a costume: the permission to move beyond the role, expectation, or silhouette assigned to you. It is a Kashmiri-rooted word made legible to the world.
That is the line between Kashmir and Karachi. Kashmir gives us the word, the mountains, weather, craft, and space to think. Karachi gives us the pressure, pace, concrete, and restless energy to make it real. Pakistan is not a backdrop to MOKUL; it is the point of departure. Freedom is the direction.
